![]() It's unfortunate that it'll likely be labeled a fad and that our old plastic instruments will collect dust without new DLC, until we bust them out again with family and friends for old times sake. Rock Band Network never reached its full potential either, particularly since it primarily catered to just one platform. Or, integrating the game with last.fm and scrobbling a marathon session. ![]() While I do think they oversaturated the market by flooding it with so many sequels and versions, there were still missed opportunities-imagine buying a new record and getting a code to download the entire thing on Rock Band as well. There are still songs that were never released as DLC in RB/GH that I would love to play, as well as recent songs that will likely never see the light of day in a rhythm game. Its like trying to run a PS3 game in a 360. Guitar Hero on the other hand, the GH4 (WT) engine and GH5 engine are absolutely nothing alike. I honestly really enjoyed the rhythm game genre, and I'm sad that it's gone and doesn't show much of a sign of returning for the current gen, not right now anyway. The reason RB DLC works across the board is because they use very, very similar engines and Harmonix purposely developed the RB2 engine to work like RB1s and they make the DLC compatible with RB1s engine.
